Emerson’s Pm3Gv is a single-width PTMC module designed to provide up to 8 E1/T1/J1 interfaces for cPCI/cPSB, Advanced-TCA™, or proprietary baseboards. At the heart of the module is the PowerQUICC™ II 8264 communications processor. In addition to driving the E1/T1/J1 ports, the 8264 provides a powerful engine to drive advanced protocols such as SS7, SIGTRAN and ATM.

The Pm3Gv also features a Lucent T8105 time slot interchanger, which drives the board’s CTbus interface. With the T8105, any of the time-slots on the E1/T1/J1 ports can be routed to any time slot on another port, any timeslot on the CTbus, or to the 8264 for additional processing. The T8105 makes the card ideal for applications requiring both voice and data switching.

Emerson’s Pm3Gv is supported by a passive cPSB transition module. The transition module will support I/O from up to two Pm3Gv modules for a total of 16 E1/T1/J1 spans in a single cPCI/cPSB slot. The board is ideal for Teledatacom™ applications such as VoP gateways, signaling gateways, base station controllers, radio network controllers and base transceiver stations requiring multiple E1/T1/J1 interfaces for protocol and/or voice processing.

Because the Pm3Gv uses the PMC/PTMC formfactor, it can be used in a variety of environments including the user’s proprietary carrier design or a wide range of offthe- shelf cPCI, cPSB or AdvancedTCA applications.
